Event location
Forrest Football Ground, Forrest VIC – Start/Finish for all races.
The Forrest Football Ground is located on Yaugher Road, 1.5km north of the township of Forrest (VIC) and hosts the following event features:
- Race Registration
- Start and Finish line for both the 97km and 49km Great Otway Gravel Grinds (Sunday)
- Event Expo (for riders, their families and spectators!) – food, drinks, kids entertainment, live music and much more
Race Plate Collection
All riders must collect their number plate before the start of your race (unless you paid for your number plate to be posted to you!). A friend may collect on your behalf too.
Friday 3:30pm – 7:30pm: All riders welcome to collect (MTB and GOGG races)
Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm: GOGG riders.
Sunday 7:00am – 7:45am: GOGG riders
Event and Bike Industry Expo and Festival
The Forrest Football Ground will host an array of excitement throughout race registration on Friday afternoon and during racing on the Saturday and Sunday, including:
- Race registration and plate collection
- Sponsors displays and demo gear from: Michelin, Super B Tools, Skratch Nutrition, Krush bike wash, Tyred Rider, Good Cycles and more
- Forrest Brewery event bar
- Coffee, food, bar, drinks and other sustenance such as paellas, pizzas, souvlaki and much, much more.
- Kids entertainment – Bebop Circus
- Live music and MC commentary

Competitor services
To help you have a hassle-free time at the Great Otway Gravel Grind, the following services are provided to competitors:
CLOTHING STORAGE
A bag drop will be available near the registration marquee – we’ll look after your clothing whilst you are out racing! Valuables left at owners risk.
ON SITE BIKE SHOP AND MECHANICS
- Good Cycles will be set up with a bike shop and mechanic to help you with any last minute sales and servicing you need.
KRUSH Bike Wash
Event sponsors KRUSH will have a huge hand bike wash set up under their A-frame tent near the race chute with plenty of free product, water, buckets and brushes so you can give your bike some tender loving care. You can also buy their product direct from the source at their marquee near the rego tent.
FIRST AID
The Forrest Football Ground will be the central First Aid point for the event with onsite medical centre, Ambulance Victoria and trained paramedics to help you if you’ve come unstuck. Please respect that they must give priority to the more serious cases over simple cuts and grazes.
