The Great Otway Gravel Grind – RIDE A MAGICAL LINE THROUGH THE OTWAYS

The 8th edition of the Great Otway Gravel Grind is going to be a rip snorter!

This little event began as an “after party” for the Otway Odyssey, but has rapidly grown into a mainstay – nay, INSTITUTION – on the Aussie gravel calendar.

We reckon the reason for it’s popularity is threefold:

Reason #1: The “Rally” Format:

Choose your pace in the timed sections…

Then chill, have a coffee, refuel and regroup in the “Time Out Zones”, before stomping on the pedals to restart your ride.

The race / cruise nature of the format makes for a super social and fun atmosphere.

Reason #2: Breathtaking Terrain:

Look at the pictures on in the header above, LOOK AT THEM! This place is a gravel riding paradise…

You’ll twist along gravel roads through the Great Otway National Park; snake your way down to the turquoise waters of the Southern Ocean for a short stint on the world famous Great Ocean Road; and then climb back up from Wye River – giving you a whole new perspective on this Jurassic-feeling range.

There really is no better riding anywhere in Australia.

Mitch Docker, Simon Gerrans, Peta Mullens, Brendan “Trekky” Johnston, Courtney Sherwell, Tasman Nankervis…

The list of big name riders who’ve graced the start line of the “GOGG” is as long as the event’s heritage.

Some of the riders you’ll sit next to on the start line spend their winters racing at the pointy end of the Lifetime Grand Prix… or even World Tour races around the globe…

And yet they still choose to come and race the GOGG in the humble township of Forrest.
